The Global Traffic Manager reports to Heilind Electronics Corporate Import/Export Compliance Manager and is responsible for overseeing the Corporate Traffic team and all activities related to transportation of inbound, outbound and intercompany shipments (parcel, LTL, FTL, Ocean, etc). The scope of responsibilities will include all Heilind companies in North and South America, Asia and Europe. In conjunction with the Corporate Import/Export Compliance Manager and Traffic Department, the Global Traffic Manager will work to maintain, develop and improve freight procedures, and review/maintain pricing agreements with all approved carriers, while providing superior customer service and support to the sales force and vendors.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Serves as a functional expert in shipping, freight forwarding, maquiladora operations, customs brokerage, duty drawbacks, and movements through US-based foreign trade zones.


  • Oversees and optimizes shipping and logistics for shipments around the world to company owned distribution centers and customers alike.


  • Manages and executes performance goals and leads root cause analysis to drive continuous improvement.


  • Acts as the focal point of communication with key stakeholders, including internal and external customers at all levels


  • Familiar with shipping practices in accordance with federal regulations (EAR, ITAR, HAZMAT, etc).


  • Tracks financial information to accurately improve the overall efficiency of the company in reducing costs.


  • Supports strategy development and negotiation of contracts with freight carriers.


  • Knowledge of international customs documentation and related filings.


  • Manage the Corporate Traffic Team to maximize efforts as new company needs are presented.




Qualifications include:


  • 10+ years of experience in the traffic/shipping management field

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects with focus in a fast-paced environment

  • Solution-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills at all levels of an organization.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software
